History of essay tea:
This is a special mix of herbs reported to be a cure for cancer, and as most ailments are connected to the blood stream and environmental poisons, with this tea holding blood purifying properties will help most disorders. These herbs in this preparation were very familiar as Edgar Cayce, known as the father of holistic healing, often used them in various combinations for the elixirs he formulated for different individuals.
This combination of herbs is known as Essiac Tea.
The history of this remedy is very interesting. Nurse Rene Caisse, practicing in the Toronto, Canada area was first introduced to the remedy in 1922 by a patient who claimed to have been cured of breast cancer. The formula for the remedy was part of the traditional medicine of the Ojibwa Indians who referred to it as “a holy drink to purify the body to reconnect to the Great Spirit.”
Later relatives and friends who had heard the story from Ms. Caisse wanted to use this traditional medicine for their own incurable conditions. Ms. Caisse began collecting the herbs and administering the remedy to individuals who received substantial help. The remedy be- came known as Essiac (Caisse backwards) Tea. So many people were coming to Ms. Caisse for help that the Canadian Medical Association took notice and investigated. You can guess the rest. Investors wanted exclusive rights to the formula for manufacture, which Ms. Caisse refused, and the medical doctors wanted her to stop treating people. Ms. Caisse was only interested in helping people and was eventually prosecuted.
There were so many people who had been saved by Ms. Caisse’s work that a petition for a special law to protect her was presented to the Canadian government. In the debate that followed the medical profession just barely prevailed with a compromise that required Ms. Caisse to work only with patients who had been declared incurable by a doctor. Peer pressure then made it impossible for Ms. Caisse to get the proper documentation.
This herbal remedy is effective because it helps the body detoxify.
Our bodies are theoretically capable of overcoming all disease conditions naturally when properly nourished and cleansed.
Over a lifetime, toxic substances build up in the body faster than it can get rid of them. At some point a body’s natural recuperative ability starts to fail and we become ill.
Mr. Cayce also followed the strategy of cleansing the body and making sure that adequate nutrition was being assimilated as well as addressing stress factors – mental, spiritual as well as physical.
These herbs react with particular toxins, bind with them and break them down for elimination.
When the body no longer needs to utilise its energy to counter toxins, it can focus on rejuvenation. You may experience a ‘healing crisis’ when taking this tea, the body often will feel worse before it feels better. We always advise working with a health care professional while taking any herbal formula.
The original formula contains: Sheep Sorrel, Burdock Root, Slippery Elm Bark and Rhubarb Root. Read on and we give you the descriptions of these herbs:
Research
Named after Ms Caisse who used this for healing her family, friends and those who found her. She did find if difficult as cancer and other diseases were being eliminated. So after more than thirty years of harassment, Ms. Caisse finally made the connection she needed to have a supportive study done of this traditional medicine in a clinical setting. She was invited to the Brusch Medical Center in Massachusetts to work with Dr. Charles A. Brusch in 1959. Dr. Brusch and a medical herbalist worked with Ms. Caisse to improve the effective- ness of the remedy to its present formula. Dr. Brusch is famous for being President John F. Kennedy’s personal physician. Much later on a radio broadcast in Toronto Dr. Brusch stated:
“The results we obtained with thousands of patients of various races, sexes and ages, with all types of cancer definitely proves Essiac to be a cure for cancer. Studies done in laboratories in the United States and Canada also fortify this claim.”
Why is this remarkable remedy not being used? Simple. It doesn’t fit the research protocols. Because it is a natural product it can’t be patented and will not generate enough profit to cove the very expensive F.D.A. approval procedure.
A study in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology examined the effects of Essiac on free radical scavenging and DNA damage. The data from the study showed that Essiac tea possesses potent antioxidant and DNA-protective activity, two key properties common to natural anti-cancer agents.
This herbal remedy is effective because it helps the body detoxify. I personally feel the world is filled with much more pesticide, metals, pollutions and other toxic environmental poisons causing cancer, and I do not advocate that this tea will cure your cancer. Chat to your Dr or Oncologist about including this in your healing program.
